Trademarks in General
A trademark is a distinctive mark, which individualizes a product and sets it apart from other products on the market. It is possible to gain an exclusive right, either through registration or established use, to use a certain trademark in for business purposes as a symbol of products or services.
Trademark capable of registration is a symbol that can be presented graphically and of distinguishes the goods and services of a company from similar goods and services of other companies. Often, a trademark consists of a word but it may also be, for example, a figure or a number, a combination of letters, a slogan, a sound or any other sign capable of graphical representation. Even mere colors have been registered as trademarks, although this is not very common. Thus, the types of symbols that can be registered as trademarks vary considerably.
