IPR Planning as Part of a Company’s Business Operations
The IPR Strategy should be taken into account in all business operations of a company. Consequently, it is important to have in place long-term objectives relating to intellectual property rights, as well as plans relating to practical implementation of these targets and actual decisions regarding such rights, for example, to define the amount of fixed compensation for inventions made in the course of employment.
While a company’s Board of Directors is responsible for preparing the IPR Strategy, however, successful IPR planning will require the support of the entire staff. This highlights the importance of internal communication and staff training as part of the company’s IPR strategy.
