Pay and Other Benefits in a Part-Time Employment Relationship

The guiding principle for part-time employee is that the salary and other terms are defined in accordance with the percentage of working hours for full-time employee's salary and benefits. Salary of an employee, therefore, is reduced proportionately according to the agreed working hours. Other “shareable” benefits can also be given out proportionately according to the part-time working hours.

However, it is worth noting that part-time employment should not be solely due to the length of working hours subject to less favorable working conditions than other jobs, unless it is justified on objective grounds.
