Maximum Amount of Working Hours
According to the Working Hours Act, the absolute maximum number of working hours altogether is approximately of 48 hours, which the employee cannot exceed by average on a monitoring period of 4 months. With a collective agreement’s provision, the monitored period can be extended to a year instead of 4 months. The maximum number of working hours include all the hours the employee works, whether it is regular working hours, additional work, overtime work, emergency work or starting or finishing work.
