Lay-off Certificate
The employer must upon request of the employee provide him/her with a written certificate of the lay-off. Employee needs it for example for the unemployment allowance application.
The certificate must set out the reason for the lay-off, the exact commencement date of the lay-off (e.g. 1st December) and the duration of a fixed term lay-off or the expected duration of a lay-off valid until further notice. The certificate may also provide information on the salary paid to the employee for the purposes of determining the daily unemployment allowance.
