    Double-Entry Bookkeeping

With the exception of self-employed persons, i.e. sole traders, all accountable enterprises must perform double-entry bookkeeping. This means that each business transaction is entered in at least two ledgers. The chart of accounts must be unambiguous, and the recording must be done in a way which makes it easy to establish how a certain business transaction is connected to the financial statements.
