Nature Conservation
The Nature Conservation Act is applied to nature and landscape conservation and management. The provisions of the Act pertaining to protection of species pertain to areas in economic use as well. The aim of the Nature Conservation Act is to maintain biological diversity, conserve the beauty and scenic values of nature, promote the sustainable use of natural resources and the natural environment, promote awareness and general interest in nature and to promote scientific research. The Act distinguishes provisions regarding the conservation of natural habitat types, landscape and species from provisions regarding the conservation of nature reserves. The Nature Conservation Act also contains provisions pertaining to exemptions from regulation regarding conservation and protection.
