IT Agreements in General
IT agreements are diverse. The object of the agreement can sometimes be the licensing of a standard software package, other times delivery of software customized for the client. Agreements within the IT sector can be regarded to comprise also agreements on delivery of hardware, and maintenance agreements for software and hardware.
One common factor for these agreements is their complexity. There are a lot of issues which must be taken into account in the agreements, and the agreements become easily heavy and long. For further discussion, see, for example, License Agreements [License Agreement].
The agreements can be made less burdensome by using standard or general terms and conditions, which set out the general terms applicable to all deliveries. In such cases, the agreement proper only deals with delivery-specific terms, and terms of which the parties wish to deviate from the standard terms and conditions.
