Unreasonable Terms and Conditions are Prohibited
Consumers are considered to be in need of protection against marketing and advertising, but also against unreasonable terms and conditions applied by the traders. Provisions providing collective protection against traders’ unreasonable terms and conditions have been considered necessary in order to protect consumers effectively and have thus been included in the Finnish Consumer Protection Act.
A trader cannot use a clause, which is unreasonable from consumers' point of view, considering the price of the good or service in question as well as other relevant factors. The prohibition applies to all terms and conditions of consumer contracts, as well as applied business practices.
